New Hampshire Itemizes Two Dollars. ZenBusiness Adds a Hundred at Renewal.

A flat $99 buys one year of registered agent service in New Hampshire — the registered office, same-day scanning of court papers, and reminders before state deadlines.

A disclosure before the comparison starts: NH Registered Agent.org wrote this page, sells New Hampshire registered agent service at $99 a year, and collects that $99 if the argument lands. Every ZenBusiness figure below was transcribed during a July 2026 pricing review and appears the way we found it.

The Platform Deserves Its Reputation

ZenBusiness has assembled the best-looking software in this category, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Signup moves fast. The dashboard explains itself to an owner who has never dealt with a filing office. Compliance dates sit where a busy person will actually notice them. If part of what you want from an agent provider is a modern account area, that is a real product and a real reason people buy it.

What we sell is narrower on purpose. One New Hampshire address, one scanning desk, one number on every invoice.

A State That Bothers to Itemize Two Dollars

New Hampshire does something here that almost nobody selling into New Hampshire does.

Pay a state fee electronically and the Secretary of State adds a handling charge of exactly two dollars. RSA 5:10-a puts that instruction in the statute books, in public, long before you reach any checkout screen. It is why the $15 charge for moving your registered agent totals $17 through the online channel, and why the $100 annual report totals $102. Two dollars is a rounding error on a small business budget. The state broke it out as its own line anyway.

Now set that habit beside a renewal notice that arrives at double the price you were first quoted, and most of this page has already written itself.

Bought on its own, ZenBusiness agent service costs $99 plus state fees to begin. It renews at $199.

The second figure is the one that describes the relationship you are actually entering. New Hampshire wants a named agent on your record for every year the company exists, so an opening rate covers a single season of an arrangement that usually runs a great deal longer.

Billing yearZenBusinessNH Registered Agent.org
Year one$99 plus state fees$99
Year two$199$99
Year five$199$99
Five years in total$895$495

One line of that table belongs to somebody else. BetterLegal advertises $90 a year, nine dollars under us, so the floor of this market is not ours to claim. Our claim is a place near the bottom of the range a New Hampshire buyer gets quoted, and a renewal that never wanders off it.

Switching From ZenBusiness to a New Hampshire Agent: Form 10, Start to Finish

New Hampshire moves an appointment with one document, numbered Form 10: a single sheet that can relocate the registered office, install a different agent, or accomplish both in one pass. The current Form 10 PDF comes straight from the Secretary of State. Corporations, LLCs, limited liability partnerships and charitable foundations all work from the same sheet.

  1. Appoint the replacement. Your incoming agent has to be either a New Hampshire resident or one of the entity types the state recognizes for the role, and in every case must keep a business office at the street address that will stand as your registered office. That address must be a real physical location inside the state; filings naming an address elsewhere are turned back.
  2. Fill in Form 10. It asks for your entity name exactly as the state holds it, who the incoming agent is, and the street address that will serve as the registered office.
  3. File it with the Corporation Division at New Hampshire's Department of State. The statutory charge is $15. Submit and pay through the state's electronic channel and the total reads $17, the difference being the handling charge described earlier on this page rather than any increase in the fee itself.
  4. Watch the public listing. Once your new agent's name appears there, and not before, close the ZenBusiness account.

ZenBusiness remains the agent of record until the Corporation Division posts the change, so line the replacement up first and the role hands over on a single date with no uncovered day in the middle. Our walkthrough of the change filing goes field by field.

What the $99 Buys

  • Our New Hampshire street address carried on your public filings, in place of your own
  • Anything a process server hands us is scanned and waiting in your portal by the close of that same day
  • Advance warning ahead of the state's annual report deadline
  • Permanent portal access to every document we have received for you
  • A renewal invoice that reads $99, this year and each one after it

A first-year price is a marketing decision. A renewal price is the actual cost of staying compliant in New Hampshire, and for ZenBusiness that number is $199. Weigh the two services at $199 against $99, then note that the state charges $15 to make the swap official.
